LOST LIFE IN
VIETNAM OCT. 30

Mrs. Glen Eckford of Osage received word of the death of her grandson, Sergeant Jack Garnes, 25, who lost his life over Vietnam October 30, 1971. He and his companions were in a helicopter when the vehicle was shot down and burned.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at the time of this writing. He will be buried in the national cemetery in Denver, with full military honors.

Jack Allen Garnes was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 12, 1946, the son of Rex A. and Marian Eckford Garnes. He received his education in Milwaukee and Denver.

He entered the army two years ago and this was his second tour in Vietnam.

Surviving are two children, Allen LeRoy and Michelle Diane;. . . .
