Funeral services for Bert Steene, 83, of Mona, were held Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Steene, a Mona farmer, died at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, on Saturday.

Rev. E. Unseth, pastor, was in charge of the services at the Mona Lutheran Church, and burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona.

Bert Steene was born in Norway, on January 8, 1888, the son of Jens and Annie Steene. The family came to a farm near Mona in 1894, and he remained there until becoming a resident of the St. Ansgar home.

Surviving are two sisters, Gladys Steene of Mona, Mrs. James Sorenson (Emma) of Maple Plaine, Minnesota; and one brother, Andrew Steene of Lyle.
