Lisabeth (Elizabeth, Lizzy) Isaacs was born March 26, 1876 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Rollef Isaaksen (Robert Isaacs, b Nov 1829 Norway, d December 31, 1910 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa) and Johanna Palm (b March 24, 1851 Sweden, d January 7, 1914 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa), the second of their seven children. She had 6 siblings and 5 step-siblings (her father was married 3 times).

Lizzy was baptized at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa on May 21, 1876. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Knud Syverud and Mr and Mrs Nels Nelsen. She was confirmed at the same church on June 14, 1891.

Lizzy married Hans Finsand on August 9, 1896 at the First Lutheran Church, St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had 2 daughters:
Nora Johanna (b April 3, 1897 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, married Gilman Horgen, d June 29, 1985 International Falls, Koochiching, Minnesota) and
Ruth Theresa (b June 12, 1898, d 1899 both at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa).

Found in the 1880 - 1915 censuses living on a farm in Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1880: Robert Isacson 50, Johanna Isacson 28, Susan Isacson 13, Edward Isacson 12, Rachel Isacson 5, Eliesabeth Isacson 4, Nels Isacson 2, Ole Isacson 18, Christoph Paulson 21.

1885: Robert Isaacs 55, Johanna Isaacs 33, Cornelia Isaacs 23, Oley Isaacs 23, Susan Isaacs 18, Edward Isaacs 15, Rachel Isaacs 10, Lessy Isaacs 8, Nels Isaacs 7, Hannah Isaacs 3.

1895: Lizzie Isaacs age 18.

1900: Nils A Isaac 22, Robert Isaac 70, Johana Isaac 49, Hannah C Isaac 18, Relph J Isaac 11, Clarence M Isaac 9, Almer K Isaac 5, Elisabeth Finsand 24, Nora J Finsand 3. Elisabeth had only been married a year. Hans was homesteading in North Dakota.

1905: Robert Isaacs, Johanna, Elizabeth, Ralph, Clarence, Elmer, Louis Sorensen, Norah Isaacs.

1910: Robert Isaacs 80, Johanna Palm Isaacs 59, Ralph Isaacs 20, Elizabeth Isaacs 34, Clarence Isaacs 19, Elmer Isaacs 16, Nora Finsand 13. Believe Elisabeth divorced Hans abt 1910 and started using her maiden surname. She had been married 14 years.

1915: Lizzie Isaacs age 38.

Elizabeth Isaacs Finsand died December 24, 1916 at Mitchell, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Find a Grave Memorial #101209004 has a photo of her gravestone.

Note: Believe that Hans and Lizzie's daughter Ruth is also buried at the RCLC Cemetery even though there is no gravestone for her.
