81, DIED THURSDAYFuneral services were held Saturday afternoon for an Osage resident, Carl Borchardt, 81, who died May 27, 1971, at Mitchell County Memorial hospital.
The rites were conducted at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Rev. I.G. Kitzman in charge. Arrangements were by C.R. Champion and Sons, and burial was at St. John's cemetery east of Grafton.
Carl F. Borchardt was born in Worth county, Iowa, on December 31, 1889, the son of August and Augusta Sehman Borchardt. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Gladys Tabbert and Carl Borchardt were married on November 21, 1925. They farmed in Worth county until their retirement to Osage in 1956.
He was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church, first of St. John's and later he affiliated with Our Savior's in Osage.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys; two sons, Wayne of Rock Falls and Dale of Plymouth; one daughter, Mrs. Richard Moss (Ardis) of Riceville; and nine grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, five sisters and four brothers.
