FUNERAL FRIDAY FOR
MRS. ELTIA STEVENS

Funeral services will be held Friday at the Champion Funeral Home for Mrs. Claude Stevens, 89, who died Tuesday at Faith Home in Osage.

Rev. Paul Wood will be in charge of the services, and burial will take place at the Osage cemetery.

Eltia Gooder was born in Wisconsin on April 14, 1882; moving from Wisconsin, she lived on a farm near McIntire, Iowa. Later she lived south of Osage. For a number of years she was a practical nurse for Dr. Savre in the old Osage hospital.

In 1915 she was married to Claude Stephens**. They made their home on State Street near the sash and door factory that her husband operated.

After his death on January 27, 1968, she stayed only briefly in their retirement home on Chase Street, before moving to Faith Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents;and two brothers, Dr. Wilber Gooder and Elmer Gooder.

She is survived by a brother and sister in California, and by several nephews.
