RITES HELD FOR
MIRIAM LONIE

Funeral services were held Friday for an Osage woman, Miss Miriam Lonie, 72, who died on May 19, 1971 at Mitchell County Memorial hospital. Miss Lonie had been in failing health since early this year.

Rev. A. C. Wegner, Jr., pastor of the Congregational church in Orchard, was in charge of the rites at the Champion Funeral Home. Burial was at the Oak Grove cemetery in Mitchell.

Miriam Mae Lonie was born in Stacyville, Iowa, on January 2, 1899, the daughter of James Robert and Edna Mae Aldrich Lonie. She attended the Mitchell school and lived at little Cedar and Brownville before coming to Osage in 1952.

Miss Lonie was a member of the Orchard Congregational church and of that church's women's organization.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. June Fairbrother of Orchard, and Mrs. Laura McRorie of Tacoma, Washington.
