RAYMOND MARTIN, 89
OF RICEVILLE DIED

Funeral services will be held this morning (Thursday), for a Riceville man, Raymond (Ray) Martin, age 89, who died Monday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. His death followed a brief illness.

Rev. J. Bohr, pastor, will conduct the services at Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Riceville, and arrangements are being made by the Chisholm Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

George Raymond Martin was born on August 1, 1881, on a farm near Riceville, the son of William S. and Mary Ann (Martin) Martin. He attended the area schools and lived on the farm until 12 years ago when he moved to Riceville with his brother Leo and sister Mayme.

Surviving are his two brothers, Leo and Cyril of Riceville, one sister, and Mrs. R.J. Martin (Edna) of Leguna Hills, California; two nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joseph in childhood and Paul, who died in service in World War I; and two sisters, Lorena and Mayme.
