Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Laura Richman, 87, of Osage, who died Sunday morning at Mitchell County Memorial hospital. She died on her birthday.
Rev. Paul Wood, church pastor, was in charge of the services at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Arrangements were by C. R. Champion and Sons, and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
Laura Ann Critcher was born in Wright county, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Edie Schumate Critcher. For a time her parents lived in Oklahoma, then moved back to Missouri.
On February 1, 1901, at Lexington, Oklahoma, she was married to Cornelius Reed. To this union Charles Timothy Reed was born. On November 28, 1906, she was married to David Franklin Richman. She taught school for many years in Missouri.
She and her family lived in Missouri and Idaho, coming to Iowa in the fall of 1926. Since the death of her husband, on August 24, 1956, she lived at her home in Osage, until April 1963, when she became ill and moved to the home of her daughter. She was confined to the hospital and later became a resident of the Osage Nursing Home. She became one of the first residents of Faith Home and had lived there since.
Mrs. Richman is survived by her three sons: Charles Reed of San Francisco, Lloyd and Raymond Richman of San Leandro, Calif., one daughter, Mrs. Eddie Rex (Elleanora R.) of Osage; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Scott of Marshfield, Missouri, and Mrs. Ona Crawford of Notis, Idaho; one brother, Franklin Critcher of Santa Ana, California.
Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, two brothers, Henry and Clarence Critcher, and one grand-daughter, Maylene Richman.
