RITES HELD FOR ALFRED DANZOW
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Alfred Danzow, 68, who died in the garage at his home, probably Saturday. He had apparently taken his life by hanging, according to Dr. L.A. Doyle, county medical examiner. His body was found Sunday morning by a friend, Andrew Laga.
Mr. Danzow had been in ill health for about two years. His wife, Frieda, had died on October 27, 1970, as the result of a car accident.
Rev. Lyle Norris, pastor of the Congregational church, was in charge of the rites at the Champion Funeral home. Burial was in the Osage cemetery.
Alfred Sofronia Danzow was born in Romania on December 3, 1901. He served in Austria during World War II.
Elfrieda (Frieda) Cechak and Alfred Danzow were married, and came to Osage on June 17, 1951, as displaced persons. They were sponsored by the Congregational church. He was employed with the highway maintenance department until his retirement.
Surviving are one son, Paul of Osage; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Van Valkenberg (Renate) of Chicago, Elizabeth Danzow of Clear Lake; and one grandson.

OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Alfred Danzow, 68, whose death has been ruled a suicide by hanging, have been set for 1:30 p.m Wednesday at the Champion Funeral Home with burial in the Osage cemetery.
Danzow, a retired Mitchell County employee, was found by a friend in the garage of his home about 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
Dr. L. A. Doyle, medical examiner, ruled the death was a suicide that occurred Saturday night. Danzow, whose wife was killed in a car accident last summer, lived alone.
Survivors include one son Paul of Osage; two daughters Mrs. Fred VanValkenberg of Chicago and Elizabeth Danzow of Clear Lake, and one grandson.
