Griswold Funeral Services
at Osage to Be Saturday
Osage, Iowa - William Wright Griswold, age 70, who died of pneumonia at Nissen Hospital Thursday, was a son of one of the early pioneer couples of Osage, Mr. and Mrs. James J. Griswold. William was born here August 26, 1862, and is believed to have been the second child born within the town plat of Osage.
On August 26, 1886, he married Millie E. Niles, Newport Center, Vt. Two children, Harry and Gertrude, preceded the parents in death, and Mrs. Griswold died in 1925. A sister. Mrs. C. C. Hunt, lives at Long Beach, California.
Since his wife's death an adopted son, Delos, his wife and two children, have made their home with Mr. Griswold.
During his membership with the Masonic fraternity he filled all important stations in the local lodge. He was also a charter member of the Modern Woodmen.
Funeral services conducted by Dr. S. E. Ellis were at Shelledy Funeral Home Friday, at 2 p. m. A Masonic commitment service was conducted at Osage Cemetery.
