HEART ATTACK FATAL
TO ELMER DYKEMAN

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon for Elmer Dykeman, 73, of Osage, who died at his home on February 23, 1971, as the result of a heart condition. He had been ill for the past year.

Rev. L. Norris, pastor of the Congregational church in Osage, was in charge of the services at the Champion Funeral Home. Burial was in the Osage City Cemetery.

Elmer D. Dykeman was born on August 2, 1897, in rural Mitchell County, Iowa, the son of Harrison F. and Lena Troge Dykeman. When he was a child the family moved to northern Minnesota. In 1921 he came to Osage where he worked in the Buick garage.

Ruth M. Clausen and Elmer Dykeman were united in marriage on January 20, 1926, in Osage. They lived in Charles City and Mason City until 1942 when they moved to Minneapolis. He worked in the mechanical division of General Mills until his retirement in 1962. They returned to Osage in 1968.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth of Osage; one daughter, Mrs. F. R. Tarango (Marilyn R.) of LaPuente, California; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Kleihauer of Kettering, Ohio, and Mrs. Avis Sorenson of Warren, Minnesota; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters.
