Letitia (Roberts) McIlwain – May 1856 – January 24, 1937

MRS. L. McILWAIN DIES SUNDAY

Mrs. Letitia McIlwain, mother of D. S. McIlwain, Sr., of Wahpeten, formerly of this city, passed away in Minneapolis Sunday at the age of 81 years.

Mrs. McIlwain made her home here with the McIlwain family years ago and during her stay here made many friends who will learn with regret of her passing. She went from here to Chinook, Montana where she made her home until a year ago when she went to Minneapolis.

She leaves to mourn their loss, besides Mrs. McIlwain of Wahpeton, one son, Robert, J., of Minneapolis and two daughters; Mrs. T. W. Renfrew of Harvey, North Dakota and Mrs. O. K. Walker of Chinook, Montana; and one brother Dave S., of Oskosh, Wisconsin

Letitia (Roberts) McIlwain was born May 1856 in Utica, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Robert Roberts and Letitia (Lewis) Roberts. (1860 US Census)

She married Samuel L. McIlwain.
