Funeral services were held Monday, July 6, 1987, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Rock Township, rural Osage, Iowa, for Eldred Tabbert, 57, of rural Osage. He died on Thursday, July 2, 1987 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. The Rev. J. Fladland officiated, and burial was in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Mr. Tabbert was born on April 25, 1930 in Rock Township, Mitchell COunty, to Albert and Edna (Schmidt) Tabbert. He attended rural schools in Rock Township.

He and Kathryn Wenzel were married on April 6, 1952 in Alexander. The couple lived in Mitchell County, where they farmed.

Mr. Tabbert was on the board of directors of Faith Lutheran Home, Osage; he was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church Council and a Sunday School teacher at St. John's.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn of Osage; three daughters, Denise Tabbert of Mason City, and Darlene and Donna Tabbert, both of Osage; four sons: Dale of Osage, Duane of Grafton, and Dwight and Darwin, both of St. Ansgar; ten grandchildren; his father, Albert Tabbert of Osage; and a sister, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Lesch of Waterloo, Iowa.
