Edward Gates Hewitt – January 20, 1887 – December 22, 1959

EDWARD HEWITT DIES AT RICEVILLE
Riceville – Edward Hewitt, 72, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday at his home of a stroke he suffered Monday night.
Surviving are his widow, the former Bess Arsers of Osage; a son, Gene, Elkhart, Indiana; a daughter; Mrs. Earl Wells, Dubuque; and a sister; Mrs. Roy Polan, Milton, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Methodist Church, with burial in Riverside cemetery.
The body is at the Riceville Funeral Home.

Edward Gates Hewitt was born January 20, 1887 in Chicago, Illinois.
He married Eliza Maude Livingston. She died in 1931. He then married Miss Bess Arsers. Bess died in 1979.
