Antonie Schroeder Funeral held at Immanuel Lutheran

Funeral services for Mrs. Antonie Schroeder, 91, who died April 30, 1958 at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital, were held May 3, at the Immanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. Carl T. Wuerffel officiating.

Maria Ulreka Antonie Bartz was born at North Leeds, Wis., May 31, 1867, the daughter of August and Albertina Bartz. Here she was also baptized in the Lutheran faith. Later she moved with her parents to Rock Township, where she was confirmed in April 1880 by the Rev. J.L. Zeilinger. On October 10, 1889, she was united in marriage to William Schroeder at the Rock Township church. The family lived on various farms until they purchased their own farm north of St. Ansgar. Her husband preceded her in death in 1944. They enjoyed the privilage of celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1939 with relatives and friends.

Mrs. Schroeder enjoyed fairly good health until a month ago, when she suffered a severe stroke. She died April 30 at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage, having attained the age of 90 years and 11 months.

She is survived by her five children, Oscar of St. Ansgar, Mrs. Melvin (Mable) Julson, St. Paul; Alvin of Osage; Mrs. Edwin (Eleanore) Mielke of Wheaton, Minn., and Mrs. Robert (Laura) Feldt of St. Ansgar; also two sisters, Emma and Ulreka Bartz of St. Ansgar; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran cemetery with the Rev. Mr. Wuerffel in charge of the committal services.
