Inger Aadsdatter Himle was born April 17, 1847 at Voss, Hordaland, Norway to Aad Nielsen Himle and Brithe Johannesdatter, the youngest of their four children.
She was baptized at Voss on May 23, 1827. Baptismal record at Norwegian Digital Archives on line for Voss, Hordaland, Norway; Voss 1836-1851, page 134, entry # 128.
Inger emigrated to Wisconsin with her parents and siblings in 1852. Found in the Norwegian Digital Archives on-line for Voss, Hordaland, Norway 1845-1855: page 98, entries # 16-21: Odd Nielsen Himle age 47; wife Brithe Johannesdatter age 48; Children: Britha age 20; Randvei age 16; Niels age 11; Inger age 5. Leaving Voss, Hordaland Norway on May 11, 1852.
Found on passenger list from Norway to U.S.; Port of Departure: Bergen, Norway. Arrival Date: July 16, 1852; Port of Arrival: New York, New York, U.S. on Ship "Bjorgiven." Traveled on to Wisconsin. Ole, born 1805, age 47; Brite born 1804, age 48; Brite born 1833, age 19; Maria age 17, born 1835; Inger age 5, born 1847; Niels age 10, born 1842.
Found in the 1860 census living at Leeds, Columbia, Wisconsin: Odd Nelson 54, Betsey Nelson 55, Maria Nelson 24, Nels Nelson 19, Inger Nelson 13.
Inger married Johannes Olsen at either Columbia, Wisconsin or Mitchell County, Iowa about 1864 or 1865. The couple had 1 daughter, Ella Johnson (born June 1, 1865 Mitchell County, Iowa). Johannes Olsen died before 1870 in Mitchell County, Iowa.
Inger next married Lars Nielsen Himle (born June 21, 1837 Voss, Hordaland, Norway, died October 26, 1920 Douglas, Minnesota) on February 25, 1872 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.
Inger and Lars had 2 daughters:
Anna Josephine Larsdatter Himle (born June 15, 1877 Douglas, Minnesota, died August 4, 1945 Alexandria, Douglas, Minnesota) and
Ida Larsdatter Himle (born 1879 Douglas, MN, one son, Harry Bongo; 2nd relationship with a McDonald, died unknown at South Dakota).Lars had been married before and had 4 sons that Inger (using name Ingeborg after marrying Lars) was stepmother to.
Ingeborg (Inger) Aadsdatter Himle Olsen Himle died February 14, 1891 at Holmes City, Douglas, Minnesota. She was buried at the Trysil-Bethesda Lutheran Cemetery at Holmes, Douglas, Minnesota beside Lars Nielsen Himle her 2nd husband, his sons and their daughter Anna.
