CHAMBERLAIN, GRIFFIN, TREZONA, RALPH

Norton E. Chamberlain, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Chamberlain, was born on March 25, 1903 on the farm near McIntire, Iowa.

About the year 1911 Norton moved with his parents to Austin, where he attended school and finished high school.

On March 26, 1933 he was married to Isabel Griffin of McIntire, Iowa, and they made their home in Austin. On May 10, 1934, a son, James Roscoe, was born to them.

Friends did not realize the failing condition of Mr. Chamberlain's health during the winter. The last six weeks he worked only intermittently. He was taken on March 10 to the University Hospital in Minneapolis from which he returned to his home on March 14. He seemed to be improving until Wednesday night, March 22, and the following day, Thursday, he was removed to St. Olaf hospital where he died at 9:50 that night.

Mr. Chamberlain was an employee of the Kough transfer and taxi company. he made many friends and was a generous, loving provider in his home as a husband and father.

Those who survive his death are his wife, Isabel; son, James; mother, Mrs. Chamberlain Gibbs, of Hood River, Oregon; and two sisters, Hazel Ralph of Sac City, Iowa, and Zella Trezona of Brandon, Iowa.

The funeral services were held at 3:30 Sunday afternoon, March 26, at the Mayer Funeral Home. The Rev. E. Knehans of the Methodist church, was in charge of the services.

Mrs. Gibbs arrives Sunday morning, having left Hood River, Oregon, Thursday night, and was present at the funeral services for her son.

Other relatives and friends from away who came for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Griffin and four children of McIntire, Iowa; Mrs. J.O. Ralph of Sac City, Iowa; Mrs. L.R. Trezona and daughter Pauline of Brandon, Iowa, and Miss Mattie Crittenden. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Uterch and daughter and many other friends from his old homes, especially McIntire, Iowa.
