Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel for Gene E. Hewitt, 58, of 911½ Lafayette St., who died at his home, Saturday.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday.
Mr. Hewitt was born in Riceville, Iowa, September 4, 1921, son of Edward and Maude Livingston Hewitt. He married Stella Mae Ericson April 11, 1942, in Lancaster, Missouri.
He served with the Army during World War II in the European Theater, He was employed as a truck driver for various trucking firms in the area.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Barbara Hall of Ankeny, and Pamela St. John of 806 Wisner Drive; and four grandchildren.

#2:Services for Gene E. Hewitt, 58, of 911½ Lafayette St., will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Keams-Dykeman Chapel with burial in the Midwest Garden of Memories.
Mr. Hewitt died at his home Saturday. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Becker-Chapman Post 138 of the American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. Tuesday and until service time Wednesday.
