Eleanor L. Low, age 98, of Osage and formerly of Northwood and Carpenter, died Sunday, September 1, 2013, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the First Lutheran Church, 309 9th Street North, Northwood, Iowa, with Rev. Judy Converse officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church in Northwood.
Eleanor was born December 3, 1914, at Wyndmere, North Dakota, the daughter of Levi and Emma (Ellingson) Tue. She moved with her family to Iowa. Eleanor graduated from Northwood High School in 1932. On February 23, 1933, she married Harold Low in Northwood. They farmed near Little Cedar and Carpenter, and moved to Northwood after their retirement. Eleanor greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and loved cooking for them.
Eleanor is survived by her sons, Charles (June) Low of Phoenix, Arizona, Ronald (Lola) Low of Osage, Robert (Diane) Low of Austin, Minnesota; grandchildren, Brent (Sarah) Low, Eric Low, Melissa (Jason) Fairchild, Brenda Julius, Mark (Mary) Low, Kenneth (Vicki) Low, Keith (Ellen) Low, Jay (Lisa) Low, Amy Klein, Jan (Mark) Heim; great-grandchildren, Benjamin (Nicole) Low, Jennifer (Mike) Rundall, Jesse Low, Justin Low, Chase Fairchild, Chloe Fairchild, Kayli Fairchild, Tucker Julius, Alyssa Julius, Jessica Julius, Dylan Julius, Matthew Low, Michelle Low, Christopher (Lauren) Low, Cory Low, Stephanie Low, Allison Low, Ryan Low, Tommy Low, Amanda Low, Jack Low, Megan (Brad) Reasoner, Brenden Low, Dawson Low, Kelli (Noah) Hamer, Brett Heim, Cody (Michaela) Klein, Ashley Klein; and great-great-grandchildren, Sophie Rundall, Braxton Julius, Jonah Klein and Bryn Reasoner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold in 1995; one granddaughter, Theresa Low; two sisters, Fern and Ione; and three brothers, Leonard, Arnold and Lavon.
