KINDSCHUH, DOUDNA, DUCKWITZ

OSAGE, IOWA - Dean Russell Kindschuh, 88, of Osage, died Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage with Pastor Sam Mack officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Dean was born May 11, 1925, in rural Burr Oak Township, Mitchell County, the son of Charles and Helen (Duckwitz) Kindschuh. He received his education in the Burr Oak No. 6 Country School and graduated from Little Cedar High School in 1943. Dean moved to a farm south of Osage in 1944.

On November 19, 1950, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Doudna at the First United Methodist Church in Osage. They farmed and milked cows on the farm south of Osage. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Dean enjoyed spending time with family, card club, activities with friends, and attending ballgames.

Dean is survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann and Bob Lewis of Osage; nieces and nephews, Dennis (Rebecca) Kindschuh, Allen Kindschuh, James (Kathy) Doudna, Donald (Barbara) Doudna, Michael (Kim) Lewis, Karen (Rich) Brumm, Kathy Lessard, David Lewis, Dawn (Josh) Kling, Daniel (Kelly) Lewis; and many great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy in 2002; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Verla Kindschuh; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and LaVonne Doudna.
