St. Ansgar, Iowa — Betty June Kroneman, 84, of St. Ansgar died Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 24, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Township, Mitchell County, with the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery, Rock Township.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, 641-713-4920, www.schroederandsites.com .

St. Ansgar — Betty June Kroneman, 84, of St. Ansgar, died on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.

Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

Betty was born in rural Mitchell on June 3, 1929, to Amos and Clara (Luder) Lundene. She was baptized on Aug. 4, 1929, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. She was confirmed in 1995 at Deer Creek Lutheran church. She attended school in Otranto and graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1947.

Betty was united in marriage to Rueben Kroneman on June 26, 1949, at Deer Creek Lutheran in Carpenter. They were blessed with 6 children, 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Betty’s career choices included being a homemaker, devoted farmers wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. While living on the family farm, east of Grafton, she always had a large garden, raised chickens and helped with the daily chores and duties of operating a farmstead. She was a great cook and their home had a welcoming atmosphere. In 1997 Rueben and Betty moved to St. Ansgar.

She was an active member at St. John’s Lutheran Church for many years.

Betty loved to visit and welcomed friends and family with open arms. She loved her family and especially loved visits from the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son James; sisters, Clarice Anderson, Dorothy Anderson, Mildred Parmenter and Adeline Crain; brother Curtis Lundene.

Betty is survived by her children; Darwin (Vicky) Kroneman, Osage, Iowa, Dennis Kroneman, Osage, Marjean (Jeff) Gordon, St. Ansgar, Mark (Kristi) Kroneman, Ankeny, Iowa, and Kathleen (Lance) Chandler, Belmond, Iowa; grandchildren, Joshua Kroneman, Keith (Bonnie) Kroneman, Tim (Mari Ann) Kroneman, Melinda (David) Penfold, Lori (Doug) Schonhorst, Lisa (Brian) Kruse, Katie (Jason) Penfold, Jenni Kroneman, Jalissa Kroneman, Jordan (Jon) Wolf and Stephanie Chandler; 15 great grandchildren; sister Violet Rowe, Owatonna, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Vicki Kroneman, Osage; brother-in-law Lloyd Kroneman, St. Ansgar; sister-in-laws Maxin Lundene, Austin, Minn., Delores Kroneman, Britt, and Twila Kroneman, Osage; nieces and nephews.
