Dies in CaliforniaThe Leeman families were shocked to receive word of the sudden death of Alfred (Pete) Leeman, who had been in Richmond, California the past two months working in the shipyards.
Mr. Leeman was born in Mitchell county, near Little Cedar, on February 10, 1882, and died January 21, 1943 at the age of 60 years and 11 months. Most of his life was spent in Osage, Iowa. He lived a few years in California about 35 years ago.
For eight years he was agent for the W. T. Rawleigh Company of Freeport, Illinois. With that exception he was employed at the Gardner Nursery or at the Cedar Valley Produce company most of his working years.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his sisters -- Mrs. Jay Towner and Mrs. John Bower of Osage, Mrs. Johnnie Tube, Chicago, and Mrs. Charles Patrick of Jamestown, North Dakota; one brother, Bert Leeman, of McMinnville, Oregon; also his step-mother, Mrs. Joe Leeman, Osage.
His father, mother, a sister and two brothers, preceded him in death. Burial was in a cemetery at Richmond, California.
