MRS. M. SIMONS,
STACYVILLE WOMAN
DIES AT AGE OF 89

Mrs. Michael Simons, 89, died at her home at Stacyville on Sunday, January 17, 1943, after a brief illness. Her husband preceded her in death 30 years ago.

Mrs. Simons was the mother of 11 children. Three daughters died in recent years. They were: Mrs. Tony Neiss, Mrs. Henry Blake, and Mrs. Joe Heimer. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. John E. Brumm, Mrs. Joe Pitzen, Mrs. Tony Halbach, Stacyville; and Sister Mary Pacifica, of Wisconsin; also three sons: Joe Simons of Stacyville, John Simons, of Alaska, and Leo Simons, at home.

Also surviving are 49 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services was held Wednesday morning at Visitation Church. Burial was in the Johnsburg, Minnesota, cemetery.

Magdalena (Retterath) Simon was born June 5, 1853 in Germany, the daughter of Peter Retterath and Christine (Metz) Retterath. She married Michael Simon.
