L. MOSHER, STORE OWNER DIES
Riceville lost one of its well known residents this week in the sudden deaths of "Lu" Mosher, 72. He died suddenly from heart disease, and had not had been in good health but his condition was not regarded as serious. He had been identified with the civic and business life of the community for many years.
Lucian M. Mosher, or "Lu," as he was known, had operated a general store in Riceville for at least 40 years. He was born on March 18, 1871 in Illinois, and came to Riceville in 1886 when a young boy, with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.M. Mosher. He spent the remainder of his life there.
He entered the mercantile business when he was but 16 years of age. For many years he operated a grocery store. Later he bought a general store and operated it until the time of his death.
His marriage to Helen Fe____ took place on September 10, 1895. One daughter, Mrs. Ernest J. Anonson (Marjory) of Riceville, survives him. A son, Phillip, died in 1936.
A sister, Mrs. R. D. McCo____, San Bernardino, California is the ___ surviving member of a family of five children. Harry died __ years ago.
