Funeral services were held on Monday, November 10, 1986, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage for Dean Ketelsen, 53, of Osage. He died on Thursday, November 6, 1986 of an apparent heart attack, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Rev. J. Nesheim officiated, and burial was in the Osage Cemetery where military rites were conducted by Osage American Legion Post 278.

Mr. Ketelsen was the owner and operator of Ketelsen Oil Co. in Osage, for many years. For the past two years he was employed by Johnson Oil Co. in Osage.

He was born on March 11, 1933 in Osage, Iowa, to Elmer and Gladys (Olson) Ketelsen. he attended Osage schools and graduated from Osage High School. He attended Luther College in Decorah. On December 8, 1957, he and Karen Wold were united in Marriage.

Mr. Ketelsen was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1954 to 1956, and was a member of the American Legion Post 278 in Osage.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of Osage; two daughters, mrs. Larry (Kymm) Condon of New Haven and Kyra Ketelsen of Osage;' two sons, Kurt of Mason City and Kent of Osage; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. LaVerne (Daisie Ann) Olsen of Osage; one brother, Dale of Baton Rouge, La.; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Ketelsen of Osage.
