Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 13, 1986, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly for Mrs. Helene M. Ide, 92, who died Sunday, August 10, 1986 at Bartel's Lutheran Home in Waverly. Rev. L. Kampfe officiated and burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Waverly.

She was born on December 4, 1893 at Strawberry Point, Iowa, to Pastor Gustav and Frederike (Loeb) Graf. She attended schools at Strawberry Point and Upper Iowa University. She taught music until marrying Pastor Fred Ide on June 12, 1918. The couple were parents of eight children.

From 1937 to 1953, her husband served St. Paul's Lutheran in Waverly as Pastor, after which they retired to an acreage near Rock Township Hall near Osage. Later she was a resident of Good Samaritan Home in St. Ansgar. She then was a resident of Bartel's Home in Waverly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and one son, Pastor David Ide, six brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Herbert Ide of Waterloo and Pastor Conrade Ide of Pittsburg, Kansas; five daughters: Mrs. Louis (Ruth) Dusenberry of Rock Island, Illinois, Mrs. Waldemar (Esther) Gies of Green Valley, Arizona, Mrs. Willis (Margaret) Standley of Clear Lake, Mrs. Orvel (Selma) Serfoss of Waverly, and Mrs. Guy (Barbara) Moore of Kenai, Alaska; 27 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
