MRS. RIKKA OLSON
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 30, 1987 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage, Iowa, for Mrs. Rikka Olson, 79, of Osage. She died Wednesday, May 27, 1987, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage. Rev. J. Nesheim and Rev. D. Hanson officiated. Burial was in the Osage City Cemetery.
She was born on January 20, 1908 in Mitchell County, Iowa, near Mona, to Knute and Elsie (Trohm) Haugen. She attended rural Mitchell County schools, and graduated from Osage High School.
She married Allert Olson on May 1, 1927 at Mona Lutheran Church. The couple lived their entire life in the Osage area. They farmed north of Osage.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the Osage Shakespearean Club, and a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 278 of Osage.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James (Yvonne) Goodman of Springfield, Virginia, and Mrs. Edward (Aida) Knutson of Minneapolis, Minn.; a son, A. Gilman of Osage; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Fosse of st. Ansgar and Josephine Haugen of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, two sisters and a brother.
