of Mitchell
County Dies

LITTLE CEDAR, IOWA — Funeral services for Joseph Johnson, 92, a pioneer of Mitchell County, will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at the Methodist church in Little Cedar, the Rev. Rollin Oswald officiating. Burial in the Little Cedar Cemetery.

He died Saturday at a nursing home in Stacyville where he was taken last week.

Mr. Johnson was born in Sweden, January 29, 1859. He came to the United States when he was 20 years old, lived at Mitchell and Osage and for some time in South Dakota.

On February 25, 1887, he was married to Bessie Hultman. They farmed near here and in 1918 moved to Little Cedar. Mrs. Johnson died in December, 1949.

Survivors include five sons: Albert, Oscar and Peter of Little Cedar, Glenn of Osage and Melvin of Red Wing, Minnesota.
