LaBonna “Bonnie” Picht was born September 29, 1925, in rural Osage, the daughter of Gustav and Margaret (Bahnsen) Paulson. She graduated from Osage High School in 1943, and attended Luther College in Decorah, for one semester. Before marriage, she was employed as a typist clerk at Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa. After marriage, she worked as a secretary at the Story County Abstract Office in Nevada, Iowa. On Nov. 9, 1946, she married John Picht and to this marriage two sons and two daughters were born.

She enjoyed improvements and neatness in all respects. Bonnie kept herself physically fit with early morning walks and was her husband’s side- kick for 66 years farming and raising the family. She had great pride and joy in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was excited with the news of three more great-grandchildren to come.
