SUDDENLY SUNDAY AT
HIS HOME IN OSAGEFuneral services for George F. Motley, 67, were held Wednesday, November 16. A prayer service was held at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage and memorial services were held at the Riceville Methodist church. Rev. C. D. James of Osage officaited, assisted by Rev. P. Brown of Riceville. Burial was made in the Riceville cemetery.
Mr. Motley died Sunday morning at his home following a heart attack. He had not been ill.
George Franklin Motley was born on December 28, 1882, at Union Grove, Wisconsin. He moved near Riceville at the age of three, with his parents. George attended the public schools in that vicinity and the Riceville high school. He also took a course in piano tuning at Valpariaso, Indiana.
February 8, 1910, he was united in marriage to Perna Kline. The couple moved to the home farm north of Riceville where they lived for fifteen years, and then moved to a farm east of Riceville, where they lived for twenty years. They retired to Osage in December 1947.
Mr. Motley was a member of the Riceville Methodist church all of his life until moving to Osage, when he transferred his membership.
Surviving are his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Zilk of LeRoy, Minnesota, and Mrs. Robert Marshall of Osage; and some nieces and nephews. he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in . . . . (Truncated)
