DIED IN MINNEAPOLIS
UNEXPECTEDLY MONDAYfuneral services for Mrs. Alvin Schulte, 73, were held Wednesday afternoon, September 28, 1949, at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage, iowa, with Rev. H. Risse of Mitchell, officiating. Burial was made in Oak Grove Cemetery at Mitchell.
Mrs. Schulte, former Mitchell resident, died unexpectedly in Minneapolis, Monday. She was enroute to California after resigning a position as a lady companion in Cedar Rapids.
Jennie Emerson was born on August 31, 1876, at Ely. Her mother died when she was an infant and she was reared by an aunt, the late Mrs. Elizabeth Gillette, at Mitchell.
She attended Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls and also taught rural school in Mitchell county. She was married in 1898 to Alvin Schulte. They lived near Mitchell, then moved to Casselton, North Dakota, then Cedar Rapids, where he died in 1942. Since then Mrs. Schulte has lived in California, Osage and Minneapolis.
Surviving are a son, Emerson of Minneapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Edward DeHart of Glendora, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Mrs. Nancy Rae of Minneapolis and John Edward DeHart of Glendora.
