ORCHARD WOMAN
DIED IN HOSPITAL
AT AGE 70

Funeral services for Mrs. C.H. Newton, 70, were held Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, with burial in Riverside cemetery. Rev. J.K. Delahooke, pastor of the First Methodist church officiated. Mrs. Newton died last Friday at the Cedar Valley hospital in Charles City where she had been a patient nine days.

Pearl Thornburg was born in Orchard, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aron Thornburg, and lived in the Orchard community until a few years ago when they moved to Charles City.

Surviving are her husband, C. H. Newton; two sons, Stanley of Riceville and Dale of Jackson, Mississippi; two daughters, Mrs. Everett Staebler of Charles City, and Mrs. P.E. Meyers of Iowa Falls; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs. Blanche Persons of Redland, Washington, and Mrs. Jessie Larson of Orchard.
