HOME IN ST. ANSGARFuneral services for Mrs. Charles Dale of St. Ansgar were held Wednesday afternoon, April 27, 1949, at the St. Ansgar Methodist church with Rev. E. E. Pencook officiating. Burial was made in the town cemetery. Mrs. Dale died Monday morning at home, after a long illness.
Elsie Blanche Dodge was born on August 25, 1884, to Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Dodge in the same home in St. Ansgar where she died. She grew to womanhood and attended the St. Ansgar schools.
After her graduation she taught for several years.
On December 10, 1908, she was united in marriage to Charles C. Dale. They made their home in St. Ansgar for seven years, where they owned and operated a drug store. They sold out the drug store and moved to Mount Rose, Minnesota, where they lived for 33 years.
In October 1948 they sold their home in Minnesota and came back to St. Ansgar to make their home with her sister, Miss Flossie Dodge.
Mrs. Dale had been in ill health for 14 months, and spent some time in a Mason City hospital. She was an active member of the W.S.C.S. at Mount Rose and was a member of the Methodist choir. She sang at many funerals.
She was preceded in death by her parents an done brother, Dr. George A. Dodge of Northwood.
Surviving are her husband, Charles C. Dale; three sisters, Mrs. Annette Holmes of Wilmot, S. Dakota, Mrs. Nellie Wilson of Osage and Flossie Dodge of St. Ansgar; and two brothers, H.K. Dodge of Camp Hill, Pa., and W.A. Dodge of Fargo, N. Dakota.
