Ruth Lucille (Ralston) Dale

OSAGE, IOWA - Ruth Lucille (Ralston) Dale of Osage, and formerly of Gregory, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2012 at the Osage Rehabilitation and Care Center in Osage.

Ruth was born in Gregory, South Dakota on March 30, 1918 to Ellsworth and Georgia (Crown) Ralston. She graduated from Gregory High School and attended Southern State Normal School in Springfield, S.D. where she studied to become a teacher. Ruth taught school for two years in Iona, S.D. before she married Warren Dale on December 25, 1941.

Warren and Ruth resided in Gregory, S.D. where they raised their family. Her greatest joys in life were her children, sewing, cooking and "people-watching". Ruth was an active member of Berean Fundamental Church in Gregory. Ruth and Warren moved to Osage in 2002.

Ruth was preceded in death by her three sisters, Carol, Bernice, and Maude; and her husband Warren in 2010. She is survived by her four children, Donneen McKay (Mike) of Burnsville, Minnesota; Jean Anne Goodmann of Bloomington, Minnesota; Georgia (Gary) Knudsen of Osage; and Wes (Jan) Dale of Detroit, Mich.; eight grandchildren;23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

A prayer service was held on Christmas Day at the home of Gary and Georgia Knudsen in Osage. The family is planning a burial service for Warren and Ruth in Gregory, South Dakota in July 2013. Send condolences to Georgia Knudsen, 926 State St., Osage, IA 50461. A memorial donation will be given to the Berean Fundamental Church in Gregory, S.D.
