Oscar George Fjeld (Field) was born October 30, 1894, at home in Ceda​r township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Mar​tin Olsen Fjelde and G​unhild Olsdatter Chris​tiansmoen (Moe), the second of their four children. He was baptized at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church (RCLC) on December 9, 1894. His baptismal sponsors were: George Moe, Nikolai Pedersen, Ingeborg Pedersen and Karine Moe.

Oscar was confirmed also at RCLC in Meroa, Iowa on June 6, 1909. Oscar never married, nor had children. He was a farmer.

Oscar died on February 11, 1954 in Mitchell County, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran church cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
