Ida Caroline Fjeld was born March 29, 1889 at Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Ole Olsen Fjelde Jr and Guri Christophersdatter Goplerud, their only child. Ida was baptized at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa on May 19, 1889. Her baptismal sponsors were: Ole O. and Siri Fjelde; Harold Goplerud and Oline Goplerud.
Found in the 1895 census living at Rock, Mitchell, IA: Ida Fjeld age 5. (Ida's father had died in 1889, so Ida and her mother moved to Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and lived with Ida's grandparents, Chris and Kjersti Goplerud.
Found in the 1900 to 1915 censuses at Osage, Mitchell, IA:
1900: Christopher Copeland (should be Goplerud) 69, Kjistic Copeland 63, Olinna Copeland 32, John Copeland 29, Julia Field 34, Ida C Field 11. 1915: Edie C Fjeld 25.Ida married Edvin Tingelstad in 1918. The couple had 1 daughter, Gertrude B. Tingelstad (1919-2002).
Found in the 1920 census living at Maddock, Benson, North Dakota: Elvin Tingelstad 29, Ida C Tingelstad 30, Gertrude B Tingelstad 0[3/12].
Found in the 1930 census at Kent, King, Washington: Edvin Tingelstad 39, Ida C Tingelstad 40, Gertrude B Tingelstad 10, Gury Fjelde 64.
Found in Tacoma, Washington City Directories from 1933 to 1942.
Found in the May 7, 1940 census living temporarily at Decorah, Winneshiek, Iowa: Edwin Tingelstad 49, Ida C Tingelstad 51, Gertrude B Tingelstad 20, Clara J Paulson 32.
Found also in the April 24, 1940 census at Parkland, Pierce, Washington: Edward Tingelstad 49, Ida Tingelstad 50, Gertrude Tingelstad 20, Guri Fielde 74. Working as a college professor but says family is temporarily absent.
Ida died October 30, 1966 at Marion, Oregon and was buried at the Valley View Cemetery, Silverton, Marion, Oregon.
