Martin Finsand was born July 17, 1880 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Tosten Olsen Finsand and Margarethe Halvorsdatter. He was baptized on August 22, 1880 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Martin's baptismal sponsors were: Tideman Tidemansen (Docken); Hans Pedersn and Kristi G and K. Pedersen.

Martin was confirmed at RCLC on June 30, 1895. Martin never married, nor had children.

Obituary from Osage Press News: Funeral services for Martin Finsand, 85, were held Tuesday afternoon at Rock Creek Lutheran church. Mr. Finsand died last Sunday afternoon at the Osage Nursing Home. The Rev. Donald L. Berg, officiated.
Martin Finsand was born July 17, 1880, in Cedar Township, Mitchell Co., IA, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Tosten Finsand. He was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, of which he was a lifelong member. His entire life was lived in the Rock Creek, Meroa area. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and five sisters. He is survived by one brother, Oscar, of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Died January 30, 1966 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. Buried at Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
