Tollef O. Tollefson, sr. was born July 16, 1857, at Hemedal, Norway. Tollef was the oldest son of Ole and Guri Tollefson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith in the home parish. In 1874, he emigrated to America with one sister and brother. He has made his home in and about St. Ansgar since coming to this country.

For the past few years he has been in poor health. Friday, April 26th, he suffered a severe heart attack, gradually growing weaker, until May 3rd at 10:15 p.m. when he quietly passed away at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 17 days.

Tollef was always of a quiet and reserved nature. A friend of all, dealing kindly at all times with his fellowmen. He tried, by the grace of God, to live the Christian life.

He leaves to mourn, his two brothers, Tollef O. Jr. and John of St. Ansgar; also a niece, Mrs. John Asheim, of Mohall, N.D., besides other relatives and friends.

Blessed be his memory.

Funeral services were held May 7 at the Tollefson home and at the First Lutheran church, his pastor, the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough, officiating. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery, just north of town.

Present from away to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Tollef Christianson, Mr. and Mrs. Knudt Christianson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Christianson, Mrs. Christine Myli, of Northwood, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Magnuson, Mesdames Gina and Mary Magnuson and Mrs. Revin Cochran, all of Blooming Prairie, Minn., and Mrs. John Asheim of Mohall, North Dakota.

Card of Thanks
We wish to express our sincere thanks to the many kind friends who aided and sympathized with us during our recent bereavement, for all of the beautiful floral tributes and other remembrances. Also to Mm. Wm. Groth and the beautiful singing at the church. To all we extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
