Funeral services were conducted at the Schroeder & Houg Funeral Parlors for Theodore Torgerson. The Rev. T.P. Solem of Osage was in charge of the services with burial at the First Lutheran cemetery.
Theodore Torgerson was born on a farm near Stewartville in Olmstead county, Minnesota, on July 5, 1867. His parents were Nels and Gure Rust Torgerson.
Theodore was baptized in St. John's Lutheran church in Olmstead county. He came with his parents to live on a farm north of St. Ansgar, where he grew to manhood and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by the Rev. J. Olsen in the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar.
His education was acquired in the Clyde school, St. Ansgar Seminary and a business college in Dubuque, Iowa. After his schooling he worked with his father for some years, then moved to Enderlin, North Dakota, where he was engaged in the farm land business.
The last years of his life he resided in Northfield, Minnesota, part of the time with a sister, Mrs. Lena Torgerson, who survives him and who lives in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away on August 16, 1946 at the Lincoln Rest Home in Northfield.
Besides the surviving sister, Miss Lena Torgerson of Kansas City, another sister, Mrs. Belle Nelson, preceded him in death and is buried at St. Ansgar. Survivors also include a niece, Mrs. Graham Asher of Kansas City, and two nephews, Edward Jay Nelson of Chicago and Newell N. Nelson of St. Paul.
