CONDUCT LAST RITES AT FIRST LUTHERAN FOR MISS ANTONETTE TORGERSON
Funeral services for Miss Antonette Torgerson, 67, who died at the Ause Haugen Home in Decorah July 12, 1952 were held at the First Lutheran church July 18 at 2 p.m. with the O.A. Langehough officiating.
Miss Antonette (Tony) Torgerson was born February 26, 1885 in Upper Telemark, Skafsaa, Norway. She was baptized and confirmed in her home church in Norway and came to St. Ansgar in 1900. She was employed in the Oscar Koch home until 1917 when she went to Forest City where she lived until 1919.
From 1919 until 1942 she was employed in Fort Dodge at a drug store. At that time, due to inability to continue doing heavy work, she returned to the Koch home where she remained a member of the family until April 13, 1951 when she entered the Ause Haugen Home in Decorah. She died there after a lingering illness on July 12.
Miss Torgerson is survived by three sisters: Emma of St. Ansgar, one in the state of Washington and one in Norway. A brother living in Norway also survives her.
Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Langehough in charge of committal services.
