Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Thompson, 96, of St. Ansgar, who died July 27, 1990 were held July 30 at First Lutheran Church here with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating.

Mabel Spilde Thompson was born in Worth County on April 8, 1894 to Mikkel and Kristine Sonve Spilde. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Northwood and also attended school in Northwood.

As a young woman she worked in the office for Doctor Sanders of Northwood. She was united in marriage to Clarence F. Thompson October 15, 1914. Clarence died December 13, 1949. After her husband's death she worked for the Oscar Koch family and Mrs. Garnett Koch for several years.

Mabel had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar, for many years until her death.

She is survived by one son, Maurice Thompson of Farmington, Minnesota; one daughter, Mildred Feldt of St. Angar; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six sisters, two brothers and a son-in-law.

Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery.
