Lars Larsen Dynna was born June 7, 1839 at Dynna, Gran, Hadeland, Oppland, Norway to Lars Torgrimsen Dynna and Mari Haavelsdatter Stadstad, the youngest of five children. His siblings were:
1)Gubjor Larsdatter (born February 26, 1829 Norway, married Gulbrand Jorgensen Liaeker Norway, died February 13, 1914 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa);
2)Thorgrim Larsen (born 1832 Norway, died 1890);
3)Haavel Larsen (born January 8, 1834 Norway) and
4)Anders Larsen Dynna (born March 13, 1837 Norway, married Anna Hansdatter Knudsen Bilden 1867 St Ansgar, Iowa, died March 27, 1912 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa).Lars married Ingeborg Larsdatter Flatla on May 28, 1868 at Lunner, Gran, Hadeland, Oppland, Norway. They came as newlyweds from Hadeland, Norway on June 4, 1868 on the boat "Peruvian" and landed at Quebec, Canada, traveling on to settle at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa. They lived with Lars' brother, Anders Larson Dynna, until their house was built.
Couple found in the 1870 census living at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa: Lars Larson 31, Inglar Larson 30, James Thomson 36, Anna Thomson 26, Caroline Thomson 2.
Two children were born to them:
Ludvig (born October 27, 1870, died June 15, 1910 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa) and
Lise Maria (born December 2, 1872, married Herman Knudsen Klemesrud March 9, 1892 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, died February 1, 1926 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa).Lars suffered a tragic death from an accident on February 25, 1873. While hauling logs from the Cedar River and walking beside the load, he attempted to steady the load as it slid in the tracks. The chain became unhooked and the logs rolled onto him, crushing his chest. He died instantly. Lars was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, plot #Y2.
