LAST RITES HELD FOR LOUIS SWANSON ON NOVEMBER 3
Funeral services for Louis Swanson were held at the home at 1:45 and at the First Lutheran church at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon. The services were conducted by the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough. Burial was made in the First Lutheran cemetery.
Louis Swanson was born March 14, 1860, in Granven, Norway. At the age of 22 he emigrated to America and came to Decorah, Iowa. On June 10, 1889, he was united in marriage to Miss Josephine Thompson at Faulkton, S. Dakota. In 1896 they moved to Iowa, purchasing a farm five miles northwest of St. Ansgar, and in 1919 they sold the farm and moved to St. Ansgaar where they have since resided.
Mr. Swanson was a faithful member of the First Lutheran congregation of which he had been a member since 1901.He had been in failing health for the past six months, suffering from heart trouble, and passed away November 1, 1941.
He leaves to mourn, his wife, and also a number of nieces and nephews in Norway.
