Vernon C. Larson, 83, of Nora Springs, Iowa, died on Saturday, January 18, 1992, at his home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, rural Osage, with the Rev. R. Hoppenworth officiating. Burial was in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Larson was born on October 13, 1908, in Wright County, Minnesota, a son of Gunner and Christina (Erdahl) Larson. He was educated in Wright county rural schools.
He was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church near Monticello, Minnesota, and married Adelaide Wamstad on June 10, 1939, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. He was employed by Davidson Electric in Osage.
In 1940 they moved to a farm near Rudd, and started farming. In 1956 they moved to a farm near Nora Springs. He retired in 1973 and continued to live on the farm until 1981, when the couple moved to Nora Springs.
He was a member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, reading, music, and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Adelaide Larson of Nora Springs; three daughters: Mrs. Roy (Carole) Sours of Waukee, Mrs. Stuard (Ellen) White of Garland, Texas, and Susan Larson of Hopkins, Minnesota; four sons: Dennis and wife, Sheryl, of Tucson, Arizona, David and wife Diane of Lakeland, Florida, Joel and wife Jeanne of Nora Springs, and Jerome of Spokane, Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Johnson of Minneapolis and Mrs. Ardys Hubred of Golden Valley, Minnesota; three brothers: Glenn of Buffalo Center, Carroll of Buffalo, Minnesota, and Ralph of Rake; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and three brothers.
