Donald J. Foxen, age 76, of New Haven, died Monday, September 3, 3012, at the Faith Home in Osage.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, at St Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven with Rev. Steve Garner officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery with military honors at the grave by Osage American Legion Post 278. Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 8:00 p.m. followed by a scripture wake service.

Donald was born October 10, 1935, near New Haven, Iowa, the son of John and Mary Luella (McCann) Foxen. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in New Haven. Donald served in the U.S. Army as a medic. After his discharge, he worked as a mechanic and a farmer in the New Haven area. Donald was cared for during his final illness by his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Foxen, and his good friend, Marshall Korte.

Donald is survived by four sisters, Mary Lucena Eden of Titonka, Alice Wilkins of Nora Springs, Delores Hemann of Austin, Minnesota, and Mary Coleman of Shawnee, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, John Robert, Francis Joseph, and Leo Theodore.
