Lucy Jane (Cummings) Seeley – June 5, 1852 – April 13, 1928

Lucy Jane Cummings Seeley, who died on April 13, at the home of her son in Alexandria, Minnesota, was born in Dane County, Wisconsin, June 5, 1852. In 1867 her parents moved to Jones County,

Iowa, where she married DeForest Seeley, July 4, 1869. Nine children were born to this union: Jessie, Willie, and Anna having preceded their mother in death.

In 1871 Mr. and Mrs. Seeley move to Mitchell County, where Mr. Seeley died on November 2, 1903.

In the fall of 1922, she went to Douglas County, Minnesota, where she passed the reminder of her life with her son, Frank, helping him care for his three motherless children.

She has left to mourn her loss two sons Myron D. of Osakis, Minn., and Henry Franklin of Alexandria, Minn. four daughters, Mable Crangle of Cedar Falls, Ia., Myrtle Doane of Fullerton N.D., Letta M. Burden of Morton, Ill., and Verna Seeley, who made her home with her mother.

There are twenty-nine grandchildren; besides five brothers--Charles of Stewartville, Minn.; Myron, William, Henry and Harry of Osage, Ia., two sisters, Laura Page, Edgerton, Wis., and Hattie Edge. Osage.

Lucy Seeley joined the Baptist church at Little Cedar twenty-five years ago. Funeral services were held at the home of her son, Frank, in Hudson townships, April 15, and the remains were brought to Little Cedar for burial beside her husband.
