Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Steward, who died at her home in Rock township south of St. Ansgar January 12, 1957, were held January 14 at the First Lutheran church here with the Rev. I.Z. Hyland officiating.

Mrs. Steward had been ill since last April.

Alma Wilhelmine Friederike Schultz was born March 27, 1901, in Rock township, the daughter of Henry and Emilie (Steinberg) Schultz. She was baptized April 10, 1901, in St. John's Lutheran church of Rock township by the Rev. Johannes Becker and was confirmed in the same church March 28, 1915, by the Rev. W. Reineke. In 1907, she, together with her parents, moved to the present farmstead.

Alma Schultz was married to Everett E. Steward April 16, 1929, and they made their home in Northwood for one year before moving to a farm near London, Minnesota, where they lived for a period of two years. Later they moved to the Schultz farm south of St. Ansgar where they farmed for 20 years.

To this union were born six children who survive her; LeRoy, Doris, Eugene, Marlene, Merle and Betty Jean, all at home. She is also survived by her father, Henry Schultz of St. Ansgar; also two sisters, Mrs. Esther Ehlke and Mrs. Alice Ehlke, both of St. Ansgar and one brother, Alvin Schultz of St. Ansgar.

Mrs. Steward was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1953; her mother who died in 1949 and a brother who died in infancy.

Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Hyland in charge of the committal service.
