STACYVILLE, IOWA — Mrs. Anton (Rose) Krebsbach, 64, died Wednesday following a long illness. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Visitation Catholic Church here. Burial will be in Stacyville Cemetery with Hatton Funeral Home in charge.
Surviving are her husband, three sons, Eugene, Raymond and Marvin, all of Stacyville; 19 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ben (Mary) Adams Jr., Stacyville; Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Pint, Raymond, Iowa; five brothers: George and Matt Wingert, Raymond; John Wingert, Mankato; Charles Wingert, Monticello, Minnesota; Joe Wingert, Arlington, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a sister, Mrs. Matt (Theresa) Bonefas.

Anton and Rose Krebsbach
Anton (Tony) Krebsbach was born on March 21, 1891 in Stacyville Township, Section 17, about four miles northeast of Stacyville, Iowa. He was the son of Mathias and Mary (Huemann) Krebsbach. His brothers and sisters were: Nicholas, Anna, Margaret, John, William, Katherine, Mary Wilhelmina, Bernard, Rose Mary, Anna Mary and Bertha.
As a young man Tony worked for different men around Stacyville doing farm work. In 1927, when the United States entered World War I, he was drafted into the United States Army. After some training as an infantry man and medical training he was sent to France where he served with the Medical Dt. 305 Inf. as a Medic. In 1919 he was discharged and returned to his parents home in Stacyville. Then he worked for the Hambrecht family as fourth hired man. When the Hambrechts retired, Tony rented their farm in Union Township, Section 13. He later bought the farm when they died. He was the first in that area to own a combine and a baler so he did a lot of custom work for the people in the area.
Tony was married to Rose Wingert on September 22, 1920. Rose was born on May 29, 1896 in Poyner Township of Black Hawk County, Iowa to Charles and Margareta (Ehr) Wingert. They had four children: Eugene, Raymond, Marvin and an infant daughter who died soon after birth.
Fishing was a beloved hobby of Tony's along with building things with wood. He was always looking for a subject to photograph too as he enjoyed taking pictures. Tony was always game to try anything new on the market that looked fun. Tony and Rose were members of the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville.
Rose enjoyed her flower gardening and also liked to crochet. In 1957 Tony retired and they continued to live on the home place. Rose died of cancer on October 11, 1961. Tony was moved to the Stacyville Nursing Home in 1976 where he remained until his death May 12, 1984. Both are buried in the Visitation Cemetery at Stacyville.
