Harriette “Hattie” (Penney) Angell Atherton
August 3, 1857 – April 1, 1946#1:
Stacyville, Iowa – Word has been received of the death of two former Stacyville residents; Mrs. Edith Rustad, of Glenn Flora, Wisconsin, at her farm home of burns received when her oil stove exploded while she was getting dinner. She was taken to a hospital, where she died the following morning. Her home was completely destroyed.
Her older sister, Mrs. Hattie Penny Angell Atherton, 81, who had been living with her for several years, was in a hospital suffering with pneumonia and she died the following day, April 1, 1946.
They were the oldest and youngest daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Penny, who farmed south of Stacyville in pioneer days.

#3:Harriette “Hattie” Penney was born August 3, 1857 in Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of Frank Alonzo Penney and Caroline A. (Barker) Penney.
She married Edwin Isaac Angell on June 18, 1884, the son of Isaac and Mary (Bridges) Angell. He was born January 2, 1855 in Wisconsin and died May 12, 1908 in Iowa. He’s buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, Floyd, Iowa.
She married Edward B. Atherton, sometime between 1925 and 1929. He was born December 28, 1859 and died March 5, 1929. He is also buried at the Riverside Cemetery, Charles City. His first wife was Nellie Angell, who died in 1925, she was the sister of Edwin Angell.
Hatties’s daughter Gertrude Angell Howard was born March 29, 1896 and died in Ladysmith, Rusk County, Wisconsin.
