RICEVILLE -- Doloris Brockney Torney, 75, of Riceville, died Saturday (Dec. 4, 2004) at the Riceville Community Rest home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, with Pastor Michael Parris officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Conway Funeral Home in Riceville and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

#2:Doloris Helen Kruger was born January 20, 1929 near Saratoga, Howard County, Iowa, the daughter of William Kruger and Dorothy (Horstman) Kruger.
She married Leslie Charles Brockney, the son of Charles Brockney and Amanda (Vollbrecht) Brockney. Leslie died May 23, 1983.
She married Gaylord Torney, the son of Glendon and Mary (Buttolph) Torney. Gaylord died March 31, 2003.

Doloris married Leslie Charles Brockney on October 10, 1949 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Chickasaw, Iowa. The couple had 4 children.
After Leslie's death, she married Gaylord Torney on September 15, 1990 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. The couple had no children.
Doloris Torney died December 4, 2004 at Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Riverside Cemetery beside her first husband in Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 9, 2004 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Riceville, Iowa, for Deloris Torney, age 75. Pastor Michael Parris officiated. Doloris died Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Riceville Community Rest Home, Riceville.
Doloris Helen Torney was born January 20, 1929 in Howard Co. near Saratoga, Iowa, the daughter of William T. and Dorothy (Horstman) Kruger. She received her education in the rural school near her home. Following her schooling, she worked for families in the Saratoga area taking care of their homes and children. After she became a little older, she moved to Waterloo and worked for Rath Packing Plant.
On October 10, 1949, she was united to Leslie C. Brockney at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. They farmed until Les retired and they moved into Riceville. She worked part time at the New Haven Tavern and in later years at the Farmers Tavern in Riceville. Les died on May 23, 1983. Doloris was later united in marriage on Sepember 15, 1990, to Gaylord Torney, at Nashua. He died March 31, 2003.
Doloris liked to crochet, do crafts, garden work, cook and especially liked garage sales. She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and was fortunate to travel to Germany when her son was in the service there. She was especially fond of the holidays and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her two husbands; one brother Donald Kruger and her twin sister Doris Starr Riha. Survivors are her children: Roger and wife Yasemin of Copperas Cove, Texas; Rick and wife Maybelle of Riceville; Jerry and wife, Lana of Mason City and Sandra Brockney of Waterloo, eight grandchildren: Jenny, Amber, Erin, Michelle, Amanda, David, Sonya and Lee; four great-grandchildren; one brother, DeWayne Kruger and wife Eleanor of Waterloo and Donna Hemann of Cedar Rapids.
